Scott Jacobs

Scott Jacobs’ work is remarkable for its photo realistic excellence.The latest work is not just realistic, people have described it as surreal. Perhaps even more surreal, is the fact that Jacobs has been painting for only six years. His work is now owned by celebrities such as Peter Fonda, Willie G. Davidson, Lorenzo Lamas, and Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell, John Elway of the Denver Broncos, and Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz.

Scott’s professional training includes Parson’s School of Design in New York, Ducret School of Art in New Jersey, and numerous illustration “getaways”, all of which were taught by some of the most well established illustrators in the nation today. Jacobs’ style and success has rejuvenated the super-realistic genre of art.

Depending on the size, each of Scott’s paintings usually takes more than one hundred hours to complete. Much of the work is done with a brush that is so small, it is like using a pencil point. He has found this to be the only way to render the necessary detail which allows the work to earn the title “Photo-Realistic”. He uses both acrylic and oil mediums on canvas, masonite and other surfaces. Jacobs also uses many photographs of a subject, taken from all angles to achieve the depth in his paintings.

In addition to paintings of motorcycles, Scott has captured the uncanny likeness of celebrities in commissioned portraits such as business tycoon Malcolm Forbes, supermodels Kim Alexis and Kathy Ireland, and Good Morning America host, Joan Lunden.

At the invitation of the Malcolm Forbes estate, Scott was granted access to his motorcycle collection for photo-research. Mr. Forbes commented that he was very impressed with Scott’s attention to detail, referring to the painting of his own bike ‘Ruby’.

Licensed by Harley Davidson, Scott’s motorcycle work has been featured in VQ magazine, American Iron, Art Business News, Easy Rider Magazine, Forbes newspapers and a host of other national publications, making Jacobs one of the very few of today’s most sought after artists. His work sells throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.

His work has been shown at the annual Art Expos in New York and LA, La Galleria in Newport Beach, CA; The Richardson Gallery in Reno, NV; the Black Hills Motorcycle Rally, one of the world’s largest motorcycle rallies at Sturgis, South Dakota; The Laughlin River Run in Nevada, The Love Ride in Glendale, CA, Daytona Bike Week, and the Harley-Davidson dealer conventions. Scott has recently had shows at Tower Gallery in Sacramento, CA; Pegasus Gallery in Des Moines, IA; and Perse Gallery in St. Louis, MO.
