Terry Hoon

Terry Hoon began creating Lazy Susans from granite after he saw an example of one at his daughter’s house. Seeing the variety of granite that he had available to him, he grabbed rock and a chisel, carving his colorful medium into resulting artwork that is as functional as it is beautiful.

“The rock piece determines its shape as I work it,” Hoon says.

With colors that range from pink to black, from white to coffee brown – interspersed by complementary hues of flecks and lines – Hoon’s Lazy Susans work hard indeed, rolling smoothly on their ball-bearing base, providing a service in a most elegant way.
