Description
In Art of a Peel by Ken Auster, a lively conversation ensues as three chefs focus on a fourth who focuses on a peel.
Artist Ken Auster brings his experience as a surfer to canvas with his sweeping brush strokes and command of color. Explore the culinary world in his chef paintings, and delight in the images he brings to life.
Above all, Art of a Peel, stands against a glowing blue, set against the rust tones of the counter and back drop. The viewer stands circumspectly in the background, quietly enjoying the lively debate.
Ken grew up with his feet deeply planted in the surfing culture where he first learned to express his art talent. Caught up in the ground swell of the 1960s surfing culture, Ken plunged into the sport of surfing. While working his way towards a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree from Long Beach State University, he built one of the world’s most prominent silkscreen and T- shirt companies. He created now-legendary surfing art that adorned surfers from Hawaii to the shores of Peru. His surfing images became the “fine art” of this beach culture, and today, represent the classic surf art of the past century.
