Description
Crossing At the Ford by Howard Terpning
Three Crow warriors descent a steep bank into a river, seeking the best place to ford as they search out their enemies. Fording a river was no easy task, and the best place to do so changed with time and the seasons. A good warrior knew what to look for.
In Crossing the Ford, western artist Howard Terpning paints the middle of a story that we, the viewer, supply the beginning and end to, and for this moment we stop, feeling the sun on our shoulders, and hearing the sound of the water.
