Description
Crossing Medicine Lodge Creek by Howard Terpning
A party of Crow Indians, traveling as a war party, crosses Medicine Lodge Creek, quietly and with stealth. The group’s leader looks back as if to impose silence, and the two warriors following hold their steeds in check to mitigate the sound of hooves in water.
With the interplay of light with shadow, dark values with brighter ones, western artist Howard Terpning creates the mood of a place that looks much as it did when the Crow called it their home.
