Denali Summer (fine art canvas) by William Phillips
In the rugged and unpredictable landscape of Alaska, the De Havilland Beaver float plane is the dependable workhorse that delivers supplies and travelers to where they need to go.
On this sunlit summer day, Mount McKinley (also known as Denali or “the high one” in the local dialect) stands clear and tall, its glacial profile sharp and defined on one of the few cloudless days of the year.
Phillips grew up loving art but never thought he could make it his livelihood. At college he majored in criminology and he had been accepted into law school when four of his paintings were sold at an airport restaurant. That was all the incentive he needed to begin his work as a fine art painter.
