Description
Far Seeing Glass by Howard Terpning
Wary and alert, two Blackfoot scouts survey the plains below – whether for buffalo or enemies, the viewer does not know. The scout in the forefront uses eyes alone, while his companion gets a closer look through the monocular scope, a prized possession that the Indians were quick to seek out and use.
Western artist Howard Terpning takes his viewer to a high place where the breeze blows and a carpet of wildflowers muffles the steps of the Indians’ mounts.
