In Feelin’ Fine, Alan Bean is confident, he’s cool, and he’s Feelin’ Fine. (Open Edition Print)
Alan Bean’s impressionistic painting of an astronaut on the moon (there were only 12 who actually stood on its surface!) captures the exhilaration that Bean and his colleagues felt but never had time to “stop and assume the position,” as Bean explains.
“It takes a certain attitude of cockiness to be an astronaut,” he adds, “and it’s hard to show those emotions when I am behind gold visors.”
