Description
Found on the Field of Battle by Howard Terpning
In the aftermath of a battle, three Cheyenne warriors look through treasures left behind. While one man rifles through a dispatch case, a second cradles in his hands a brass trumpet, and a third, chin in hand, looks thoughtfully into the distance. The cavalry hat upon his head is a sign that the previous owner, if he is still alive, left in haste.
Western artist Howard Terpning draws the viewer in for an intimately close-up view of discovery, curiosity, and investigation.
