Horse Feathers by Howard Terpning
Prior to battle, both a Northern Plains Indian and his mount have arrayed themselves to fight. The warrior’s face is painted from a carefully selected palette of color, symbolic to the wearer, and the markings on the warrior’s leggings are testament to success in earlier fights.
The horse is arrayed with eagle feathers to provide strength and speed.
Howard Terpning is an amazing storyteller of the Native American’s. His awards are so numerous that it would take multiple pages to list them all.
