Old World Sgraffito Bowl in Chocolate Clay

Description

Old World Sgraffito in Chocolate Clay made by Caprice Scott was created to evoke a feeling of Old World charm, this bowl was made using chocolate clay. The piece was hand-formed then painted over with porcelain slip.  Once the slip dried to leather-hard, a design was created using the sgraffito method of carving through the layer of porcelain to reveal the chocolate clay underneath. After bisque firing, a clear glaze was applied and the piece fired again at cone 06
low range firing.
